About Velvetglove and Charles Ryder: Velvetglove and Charles Ryder are UK-based authors who occasionally collaborate on dystopian stories. Ryder is generally the ‘milder’ of the two, with a penchant for spanking, humiliation and uniforms. Velvetglove novels are often ‘harsher’, darker and psychologically cruel.
They first collaborated on the ‘Return to Mainland’ series, an offshoot of Velvetglove’s ‘Penal Colony Nine’ saga and Ryder’s ‘State Orphanage 17’. ‘Bank to Bordello – Maria’s Downward Spiral’ is their second collaboration.
