This book is rather boring. 3 out of 5 (Chicago) Not only excellent but splendid!
I very much like this author. His imagination, the quality of his
writing, his familiarity with the material and especially topics that
he chooses. But this time he even Surpass himself!
Even though I did not like the last chapter.

Chinese Justiceby Peter Marriner STORY DESCRIPTION Nicola's affair with the Chinese lecturer, Xeng, has resulted in her moving to China to be with him but all too soon it goes wrong. Xeng has gone missing and Nicola is dragged before a 'court' to be accused of crimes against the state, including seducing a Chinese national!
This is only the start of Nicola's ordeals: punished by the women who hold her, sentenced to hard labour by a court, taken as a concubine by an official; her painful progress from owner to owner results in a gradual breakdown of all she has known or been; used as a beast of burden, as a pony with a rickshaw, she finds out the hard way how harsh Chinese justice is for a white, red-haired, she-devil! | Keywords - click on word to search for more titles China submission slavery pony Author information: For many years a Merchant Seaman who voyaged world wide. Wrote most of the stories then foe my own amusement and updated them later for publication.
An interest in SF themes particularly Post Catastrophe worlds as a way to strand white females among non-European survivor groups.
Some of the stories are historically based in wilder times and places.
