The story of ‘Wildness’ is more about a proclivity for sex of the pain-pleasure kink than a place. And like the saying that ‘birds of a feather flock together’, the characters populating this tale are similar travelers looking for their kinks on the edge and in extremes. Abundant twisted sex is a staple. Levels of wickedness are relative.
From this perspective our female protagonist Nancy’s survival depends on embracing the perverse where innocence, chastity, chivalry and such are weaknesses. Promiscuous, bad, nasty, selfish and cruel are character strengths. The pain in pleasure is the pleasure in suffering the erotic aspects of pain. Tolerances are artificial constraints, agony a useful tool in achieving questionable goals. When faced with a choice between right and wrong, the better odds are to error in the direction of sinful. Nancy’s ensuing fate is not for the faint of heart.
