We could all look like glamour models if we had hours to get ready for work or school as well as thousands of spare dollars. We're all jealous of the girls and women on magazine covers - even those of us who say we aren't secretly are. But unlike those models we have lives that won't wait and places to be where we don't have make-up artists and photographers handy. We settle for getting as close to the desired image as possible and we dress for the occasion in the amount of time that we have at hand. We want to look as good as possible and we don't want it to take ages when we don't have the time. Before a special event we might make the time to get ready and spend hours in front of the mirror preparing. This is why many of us turn up to a friend's party looking awesome but then we show up for school or work on any other given day at 9am looking like crap. It's undeniable that some are lucky and manage to pull off the au-naturale look without even having to touch their make-up kit or even brush their hair at times.
