Chapter One

 

Jade rolled over in her king sized bed only to find the other side empty. She sat up in bed and observed the clock while fixing her long brown hair, which had matted from sleeping without her satin scarf. She hadn't had much sleep because she'd tossed and turned all night. It's four in the morning. Where the hell is he? Deshawn was nowhere to be found. Another lonely night. She wanted things to change. Jade and Deshawn had only been living together for about three months. It was Deshawn's idea to live together in the first place. This was not the first night he had not come home. In fact, he hadn't stayed a whole night with her since she graduated from college. Jade and Deshawn were high school sweethearts from their small town in Maryland. Everyone believed that they would be together forever. Things changed dramatically when she wanted to go to college and he didn't. Deshawn wanted her to be a housewife and let him work, but Jade was brought up to never depend on a man.

Jade looked down at her engagement ring. She let out a deep breath, trying to remain cool, but tired of his cheating ways. Ever since she moved in, Deshawn had become a different person. Jade figured he was jealous because she was the only one out of all their friends to go to college. She rolled her eyes and took her ring off. It doesn't even mean anything anymore. Unable to sleep, she decided to check her email.

She'd received the usual notifications from Twitter and Facebook, but her eyes stopped on an invitation to a chat room at SexyFlirt.com. Deshawn has all the fun. Why can't I? She clicked to the website.

Jade knew that she was beautiful. She couldn't understand why Deshawn would cheat on her. Her long brown hair complemented her caramel brown skin. Many men would leap at the chance to be with her. She had curves in all the right places. Her curvaceous body very often drew male attention, but she always stayed with Deshawn because she genuinely loved him.

She set up an account on SexyFlirt.com and uploaded a picture for her profile. Instantly she received private messages. She scrolled through the messages only to see pictures of guy's members. Jade laughed. I am not ready for all that. All the guys wanted to talk about was sex, but she was not interested. One private message did catch her eye. MrBusiness couldn't be too bad since he greeted her and didn't send her naked pictures.

MrBusiness: How are you, miss?

Jade frowned when she saw his picture. The picture only displayed his body from the neck down. His muscular build was definitely a turn-on. What could this guy be hiding? Maybe he's ugly? His body is amazing though.

PinklipstickLover: I'm great. Just can't sleep

MrBusiness: ASL

Jade stared at her Mac laptop screen. ASL didn't ring a bell and she didn't want to seem like an old lady that didn't know chat room lingo.

PinklipstickLover: ???

MrBusiness: Age, sex, location.

PinklipstickLover: Oh sorry, 21, f, Maryland

MrBusiness: 28, m, UK

PinklipstickLover: That explains the fair skin. I like English accents though :)

MrBusiness: Good maybe we'll tan together :) you're beautiful, miss. Your boyfriend is a lucky man

PinklipstickLover: He's out doing god knows what

MrBusiness: What's your name, miss?

PinklipstickLover: Jade. you?

MrBusiness: Steven. I'm sorry for your boyfriend's behavior. I'll keep you company.

PinklipstickLover: Thanks. So are you single?

MrBusiness: Yes I don't have a lot of time for a girlfriend right now.

PinklipstickLover: But you have time to be on a chat site?

MrBusiness: Just for right now

PinklipstickLover: What kind of girls do you like?

MrBusiness: Women? I like independent and funny women

PinklipstickLover: Interesting

MrBusiness: When are you leaving your boyfriend to come to the UK?

PinklipstickLover: Seriously?

MrBusiness: No, silly American woman...

PinklipstickLover: What's that supposed to mean?

MrBusiness: I'm only teasing, ma'am. I actually love American women. Too bad I can't find one :(

PinklipstickLover: What are you insinuating?

MrBusiness: Maybe I could be your mister.

 

Jade froze after reading those words. She had only been talking to him for a little while and he wanted to be her "mister"? It wasn't possible to have an affair from a thousand of miles away, was it? Having a mister could help pass the time she spent alone.

 

PinklipstickLover: Can I see your face?

MrBusiness: Sure

Steven sent her a picture and Jade smiled as soon as she saw it. He's absolutely gorgeous. Steven's gray eyes caught her attention, not to mention those yummy lips she wouldn't mind kissing. His dark brown hair reached his shoulders. His pale muscular physique definitely said he cared about his body. She loved how messy his hair looked without it taking away from his appeal. This guy couldn't be single. He looked like a model.

PinklipstickLover: Are you sure you're single?

MrBusiness: Sweetheart, I can assure you that I am. Only person I'm thinking about right now is you

 

Jade felt warm and fuzzy inside from his last message. Deshawn hadn't paid her attention in months. She was eager to video chat with Steven, but she didn't want to move too fast. She didn't know what he might do. She didn't want to make it seem like all she wanted was something sexual.

 

PinklipstickLover: Why do you want to be my mister?

MrBusiness: To keep you company while your boyfriend is out and about

PinklipstickLover: Have you ever been with a black woman before?

MrBusiness: Nope but I want too. I love the color of your skin. It's sexy to me

PinklipstickLover: Thanks

MrBusiness: So can I be your mister?

An older guy with an English accent. I would die just to hear his voice. Jade wasn't usually fond of white guys, especially for a love interest. As a black woman, she always assumed dating outside her race wasn't normal. In her small town, everyone looked down on interracial dating. Of course people had friends of other races, but dating another race was a no-no in her small town. She'd never been with a white man and had never stepped out of her relationship since being with Deshawn four years ago, but she felt like this would make her feel better. Jade didn't know what she would be getting herself into but she was sure she would enjoy the ride.
