Charlie doesn't really accept the fact, but he is in the middle of a full blow mid life crisis. He's sold his sedate sedan and bought a fire red Porsche, he has begun to dress like a teen... yet he claims he isn't even remotely tempted by the pretty young girls who are drawn to the car and the impression of money... that is until his neighbours young daughter asks for a ride into town.
Anna Mathews, Charlie's middle aged wife also claims to be contented with her life, but if that is really true, then why does she fantasise about aloof and arrogant artist Robbie, and why does she so readily agree to accompany him on a potentially naughty trip to Venice and Florence.
