| | STORY DESCRIPTION Jim Holt is a very good computer programmer. He has a bit of a personnel problem at his defense programming job and he gets fired. He's then unable to find another defense programming job.
As a result, Jim Holt is lucky to find work as a database programmer at a very strange operation.
Jim is working at his database programming job when he begins to discover several very strange things. First, many of the secretarial personnel at the company where he works want out of the company and out of San Diego and they're willing to work in porn films to get the money to move on. Second, someone is killing people on the San Diego beaches. Third, the police suspect that Jim Holt may be the one killing the people on the San Diego beaches. Fourth, the people running the company for which he works are almost certainly criminals, probably insane and maybe killers.
Jim has to use his systems analyst mind to sort through a lot of data, to find the real beach killer, prove to the police that he's not the beach killer and help the ladies at work escape.
Mental ability isn't enough, Jim also has to use his physical skills.
The story takes place in the Pacific Beach community in San Diego and the reader gets to see the social interaction of such a place.

Domination Author information: I spent my early years in the part of Los Angeles known as the South Central. I was known as Whi' Boy, which was sufficient to identify me in that place. I'm a skilled kung-fu player, using a system that I learned from a Korean I knew only as 'Pak.' It would be easier to tell you the places that Pak wasn't wanted by the police, rather than the places where he was wanted by the police. Pak's kung-fu system, augmented by some bits and pieces from some Chinese practitioners is quick and effective, or I wouldn't be alive today. My early education was mostly obtained by stealing books from the public library [I always returned them and the Librarian even began to provide me with reading lists.] I did go to high schools, but I never really learned anything there. I eventually graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, UCLA, with a degree in mathematics.
