Todd Sutherland is a high school junior and aspiring artist who find himself caught up in the world of super heroes and villains after he and his friends rescue their classmate, Ilsa, from a mad scientist's lab. Soon enough, the teens begin to exhibit superhuman abilities of their own which they use to protect Ilsa from follow-up abduction attempts as they try to discover why she is so important to the villain.

Todd and his friends learn that the hero biz isn't all fun and fame as they make enemies of several villains and a few heroes as well while they try learn to use their new powers. Todd's ability to summon forth the things he draws in a magic book is both unique and dangerous since not everything he conjures is friendly, and some things don't wait to be called upon.
